This study considers the successful FDI model in China and the lesson to be learned for Vietnam. By using regression analysis, we use the annual data base to analyze how those factors  including  relative real wage rate,  real exchange rate, stock of patents, and the trade of countries make influence on FDI. The results show that the trade volume affects FDI much more than any other factors. In my thesis, as the successful experiences come from China, we contribute that Vietnam may improve the investment surroundings to attract FDI and hence economic growth.
