Title: 非英語系保育員實施英語教學之研究

Abstract: 本研究旨在了解非英語系保育員實施英語教學活動之歷程,以及了解幼兒家長與班級教師對英語活動的回饋,並探究研究者在教學歷程的體悟與省思。本研究對象為高雄縣某國小附設幼稚園的大班幼兒二十三位,研究者於九十六學年度實施英語教學,時間為期九個星期,採質性之撰寫方式進行研究;為了研究的可信度,研究者以三角校正方式進行驗證,在研究期間蒐集與檢視幼兒學習的相關文件、教學錄音、教學省思日誌、幼兒觀察記錄、家長意見問卷及班級教師訪談,以進一步了解英語教學活動發展的歷程。根據研究結果,本研究結論為:

一、實施幼兒英語教學宜以培養幼兒學習興趣與基礎英語能力為教學重點
二、實施幼兒英語教學宜以生活化的童謠、繪本、生活用語融入活動
三、非英語系保育員具備良好英語教學能力,有助於幼兒學習英語
四、具幼教背景教師實施幼兒英語教學,有助於課程安排與班級經營
依循研究結論,研究者針對幼教師、幼兒園、英語師資培育機構提出研究相關建議。

The main purposes of this study were to document the English teaching experience of non-English major child-care educator, understand feedback on English activity from parents and teachers, and explore the researchers’ understanding of teaching experience. The participants were 23 kindergarteners from an elementary school in Kaohsiung County; and the roles of researcher were also the major teaching deliverer and participant observer. Researcher implements English teaching in Year 2007 for nine weeks. In order to ensure the reliability of this study and figure out the developing process of English teaching activities, multiple methods were employed to collect qualitative data relating children’s English learning and teacher’s teaching, such as, teacher’s daily reflection, children’s English work, observation records for children English learning, parent questionnaires, and class teacher interviews, as well as to analyze data.
The results of this study are listed as follows:

1. To implement children English teaching, it was better to focus on cultivate children’s interest in learning and fundamental English abilities.
2. To implement children English teaching, it s better to use nursery rhymes, picture books, and daily conversation into activity.
3. Non-English major child-care educator with excellent English-teaching ability is helpful for children to learn English.
4. The English teachers who have early childhood knowledge background are helpful for curricular arrangement and classroom management.

Based on the results of this study, researcher made some study-related suggestions for childhood teachers, kindergartens, and English teacher educational administration institutions.
