Commercial banks are profit-seeking business firms, dealing in money and credit. If the credit quality is not good, they can make only short-term profits; otherwise, they can seek profits in long term. This paper aims to compare the job satisfaction level of the creditors on credit quality between two big cities in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi capital. It intentionally took Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the largest bank in Vietnamese banking system as an example to study. The results of this research show that there are considerably different job satisfaction of creditors and credit quality between two cities. The satisfactions with income and with colleagues have a vital impact on quality of credit activities; however,its levels in Agribank Hanoi much differ from that in Agribank Ho Chi Minh. Besides,the credit quality in Hanoi branches and Ho Chi Minh branches are distinctly affected by both cognitive abilities on the job as well as personal behaviors of the credit staffs.
Furthermore, this research can be a documentation that will possibly stimulate discussion on building credit quality as well as minimizing credit risks in Agribank.
