In the intellectual economy today, Education and Training must be regarded as a prior important factor for the development of human resources, contributing to the economic growth. Training quality must be associated with the process of training and development of human resources. In the field of Education and Training, training and development of teaching staff is very important.
Article 35 of the Vietnamese Constitution 1992 declared: “Education and Training must be considered as top national policy”. Target and development strategies of Education and Training from now up to 2020 are improving the quality of Teaching staff at Universities and Colleges. In order to improve the quality of this human resource, we have to evaluate the real quality of our teaching staff to know whether it meets the requirements of society. What should we do to improve the quality of teaching staff? This is not the question of education strategy researchers in particular but also the consideration of the whole education sectors and society in general.
In fact, the social and economic development depends on many factors, many conditions but most are still primarily dependent on teaching staff.
Thesis was conducted on the basis of arguments and surveys to bring out the solutions on improving the quality of teaching staff at Hai Duong University of Economics and Technology. A questionnaire was used in collecting data which were analyzed using statistic tools such as: Cronbach’s Alpha, factors analysis, correlation and regression analysis by SPSS 16.0. The result of the findings revealed that the quality of teaching staff at Hai Duong University of Economics and Technology was affected by two main factors: selection and recruitment and policies for lecturers. We do hope that this research will somewhat help the managers of Education have ideas to do their researches more deeply during the period of industrialization and modernization today.
