Abstract: Radio frequency identification (RFID) systems occupy an increasingly important role in asset-tracking and inventory management systems. After manufacturing and retail marketing, healthcare is considered the next home for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Meanwhile, Biometrics also plays an important role in technology field.
Radio frequency identification (RFID) systems occupy an increasingly important role in asset-tracking and inventory management systems. After manufacturing and retail marketing, healthcare is considered the next home for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Meanwhile, Biometrics also plays an important role in technology field. Biometrics offers usability advantages over traditional token and password based authentication schemes. In this research, we proposed the integration of RFID with Biometrics together to apply in healthcare management in order to make medical records more secure and maintain privacy. In this thesis, the strengths and weakness of both RFID and Biometrics are overviewed of practical model to integrate these two technologies to serve outpatients when they appear to hospital for registration, in this model the drawbacks of RFID are compensating with strengths of biometrics. It does not only provide the advantages of security environment for the medical records but also make the process and business flow in hospital become efficient and faster than traditional process.
