Abstract: For the past few years, ICT has become one of the basic building blocks in education of modern society. However, there seems to have an uncanny lack of influence and far less change than other fields have experienced. Understanding the tools by which teachers adopt ICT in their teaching as well as examining the factors influencing the use of ICT and identifying the rate of adoption ICT can be an important step in predicting of ICT adoption in teaching. This study attempted to provide such an understanding by relying on Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behavior and Rogers’ Diffusion Theory.
A hardcopy of instrument was sent to 300 teachers from seven different colleges of Hue University to collect data attending to this research. After being coded, the collected data was analyzed by using Visual PLS and SPSS. Findings gained from this study not only give a rather thorough picture of ICT adoption in teaching in Hue University but also provide some implications for education planners who seek effective means to encourage the teaching staff to integrate ICT effectively into their teaching.
